Game length and overtime
An NHL game is three 20-minute periods. In the regular season a tied game goes to a short three-on-three overtime and then a shootout; in the playoffs overtime is played in full 20-minute periods until someone scores, so playoff broadcasts can run very long.
The watch page stays active until the provider marks the game as ended.
