Player help
The SportSurge player loads available sources for a broadcast automatically. Here is what its messages mean and what to try.
Player messages
- Loading available sources… The page is asking our server for the broadcast’s current sources.
- Sources are not available yet. The broadcast is listed but no source has been published. The page checks again every minute.
- We couldn’t start playback. Every source failed or the provider didn’t respond. Press Retry.
- This broadcast has ended. Playback is no longer offered; pick another broadcast.
- Live playback is not connected yet. The site’s streaming provider hasn’t been configured.
If the video stutters or stops
- Choose a different source under the player, if more than one is listed.
- Press Retry, or reload the page; the page asks for fresh source links each time.
- Switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi, or move closer to your router.
- Close other tabs or apps that are streaming video.
- Update your browser. Current Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox versions are supported.
Fullscreen and mobile
Use the Fullscreen button at the top-right of the player or the player’s own control. On iPhone, the video may open in the system player when you go fullscreen. Rotating to landscape gives the largest picture.
Sound and autoplay
Browsers often block autoplay with sound. If the picture is ready but nothing plays, press play in the player controls.
Wrong time or status?
Times are shown in your device’s time zone; see the time-zone guide. Statuses come from our provider; see what statuses mean.
